Stefan,

Most of what I do can't really be scanned. Investor Insight lists % of avg. vol. based on the last 3 months for all the stocks downloaded at any time. If I see a chart with a bit of a breakout...like BREW had after the close on Tuesday with volume increased over the previous day, it would go on my volume watch list. If by say...10:30 it was up a tick or two and volume was 45% or more of its daily avg. in that short span of time since the open, it goes into Parity. I would run the TA based on the previous day's close and an intraday for the current activity if the TA from Parity has anything cool going on. By that time I have my broker on the phone. Sometimes it isn't until later in the day that I find something good but it's the volume that flags the stock. By 1:00 it needs at least to equal its avg. daily to deserve a closer look.
