And now for something to appease the weary souls (from Dow Jones):

----

TAIPEI -- Sifting through the pile of first-quarter earnings from
Taiwanese technology companies this week, analysts say it's almost
certain the industry has bottomed out.

Tech experts contend the worst may be over for most technology
companies, particularly those that manufacture personal computers
and semiconductor chips, with a recovery expected in the second
half of the year.

However, companies that are heavily reliant on dynamic random
access memory, or DRAM, production may continue to suffer as
global prices are expected to stay depressed, analysts said.

'What we're seeing now will probably reflect what's going to happen
in the next two to three months so the worst for the market is over,'
Rick Hsu, assistant vice president at Grand Cathay Securities
Corp., said. 'We've essentially entered the bottom of the share price performance.'
