Compare ktel.com to cdnow.com or n2k.com .

I am more convinced than ever that this is a 2nd-tier "internet" company, and will never reach the level of a true internet marketer. I can't help but look at the website and wonder what took so much time and planning. It just isn't that good, and the prices aren't that low. The only 2 things it has going for it are a free CD for registering and advertising on Yahoo!. Of course, these things don't come free.

Why anyone would jump to order a CD from K-Tel over Wal-Mart, Best Buy, CDnow, CDconnection, N2k, Columbia, or BMG, I have yet to see. There just isn't much there to attract custumers. Not many consumers have heard of them. And it doesn't appear there will be a burst of name recognition in the near future.

I'm sitting on a small short... waiting for interest to wane (that website sure is exciting, isn't it?) and the split to dilute the float.
