Good question. Does anyone have current info on TAVA's talks with the railroads?

While the nukes get plenty of attention because of their embedded chip situation, haven't been seeing much of anything about the trains.

The UPI story posted yesterday about the Senate naming a *Y2K Moses* (their term)
desnews.com
has one line that mentions railroads.

Without the regular and timely arrival of coal trains, a sizeable chunk of the power grid is at risk. I'd like to see more evidence that the whole supply chain from coal mining, to rail transport, to fuel into the furnance was being made a major priority by somebody. Is it?

I get the impression that no one is looking at the whole system. Are they?

Perhaps that would be a role for the govt. -- help focus resources like TAVA's across a whole infastructure chain of supply rather than hoping for each individual link to get the job done on their own.

The power grid is at the root of the most fundamental mission critical systems. Getting coal out of the ground, onto the trains, and into the furnaces is everybit as important as sorting out a nuke's chips.

Will there be fuel for the generators? Sure, if the trains run on time.

After the debacle from last year's rail merger, we should at least realize that, even under the best of circumstances, getting train cars from where they are to where they are needed -- an doing it in a timely fashion -- is a challenge.
