Nikkei English News via NewsEdge Corporation : TOKYO
(Nikkei)--Worldwide sales of semiconductor-manufacturing
equipment totaled roughly 2.04 billion dollars in February, up
36.7% from the same month a year earlier, according to figures
released by the Semiconductor Equipment Association of
Japan and the Semiconductor Equipment and Material
Institute.

February also marked the ninth consecutive month of
year-on-year increases in sales.

With the exception of South Korea, which saw a sales slump of
more than 40% for the second straight month, worldwide
demand rose by double digits on the previous year.
