Aware of the perceptible changes in LSI's business goings-on and feasting on imaginary profits in the dark crevices of my mind, I thought I'd see how the gals and guys on the Street:

had changed their perception of LSI over the last 3 months and

how LSI now compared to her semi-brethren.

----

To do this, I used the "detailed research"
link on Yahoo Finance, to steal Zack's
(1st Call's) ratings on selected
semi stocks. Here's what I found.:

----

Stock Current Rating Change over the
past 3 months
(+ is good)

-----------------------------------------------

Stocks that the Street has developed a greater
fondess of over the past 3 months:

LSI 2.35 +0.37
ALTR 1.83 +0.35
ADI 1.27 +0.33
AMD 2.63 +0.20
MU 2.25 +0.20
TXN 1.83 +0.17
XLNX 1.57 +0.06
MXIM 1.35 +0.00

-----------------------------------------------

Stocks whose lovability index declined - the
street does not like these stocks as much as
it did 3 months ago:

CUBE 2.25 -0.08
INTC 2.10 -0.10
VTSS 1.50 -0.12
CRUS 2.25 -0.14
LLTC 1.50 -0.16
VLSI 2.54 -0.16
MOT 2.38 -0.25

-----------------------------------------------

Conclusions:

(1) Yes Virginia LSI did show the greatest change in lovability over the last 3 months. So the imperceptible change in perceptions is true.

(2) However we have merely gone from totally "despised" 3 months ago to just "somewhat despised" today (current rating of 2.35 is still pretty pathetic).

(3) But Virginia the optimist in me therefore sees lots of potential upgrades from 2.35 and so is still happy that (1) rules. The mo is in our favor and we have a long way to go to 1.00. (ie., if we were at 1.00 now and a share price of 27.00 life would truly suck. What normally would happen is that if we ever get to 1.00 the stock will be at 150 and it will be time to then say adios Senorita LSI...)

---

Translated:

The street has given LSI more upgrades than any other semi-stock in the past 3 months.

But overall we still are in the dog-house.

Then again, for those of us kids with l/t horizons, it might be prudent to buy the pups who are just learning to walk (all measured by WS pundit sentiment).

LSI is just such a puppy...
