digger, > Anyone familiar with ObjecTime? I have looked at their products and they are really the leaders in object-oriented modeling of real-time systems. They have their own method (ROOM) and a set of tools to support that method, with ObjecTime Developer being the main tool (with UML support and very good real-time code generation). Considering the market for real-time systems and that object-oriented development is becoming more and more accepted in such systems it's good RATL can cover that market as well. This collaboration with ObjecTime is not new though. From a press release in October -97: "Rational Software Corporation and ObjecTime Limited today announced a strategic business and technology alliance focused on the real-time market. Rational is making an $8.9 million minority investment in ObjecTime Limited with an option to acquire the company." So RATL may very well acquire ObjecTime in the future, it fits into the overall RATL strategy. I am sure they didn't do it last October because the market wouldn't have liked another acquisition so soon after the Pure Atria deal. Best regards, Hans-Erik Eriksson
