I am much indebted to your posts for keeping me sane during some tough days last January and July (remember?).

Now, re Jeff's post on CSCO, particularly, "their INTC-like control of their sector". My caution here is that my impression is: NO company has the kind of lock on networking technology that INTC has in CPUs. It is changing too fast and it is basically an "open systems" environment. That said, CSCO's strength is its installed base and its very high market cap, which allows it to buy companies with leading edge technologies to keep ahead of the pack.

You should look at all the leading networking companies before taking a plunge. I did and invested in Cabletron because, like Intel it was the best "value". But you should do your own research. I would be interested in your POV on this market after you do your research.
