Mike, I am a liberal, so my gripe is not political, but even I hate to see the kissy-face way the NYT treats Clinton. One of my favorite cartoons is Mallard Filmore, and he skewers them pretty good. But I find it amazing that when Tricky Dick used a lot of stone-walling, the press was all over his case, yet Clinton is just about as bad and for some reason, Starr is the villain for making the case drag on. Also, if Clarence Thomas had done half the stuff Clinton has done to women, I know he wouldn't be backup singer in The Supremes. <G> I guess it comes down to the fact that I think there are certain rules and standards and you either follow them or you don't. I think making excuses for one sinner while lambasting another for similar tactics is not journalism, it is bias. Journalists rank right up there with equity analysts on my list of folks who don't do their jobs. <G> MB
