attached is a brief summary that I received of the conference call yesterday after the mkt close...Hope this livens up the thread again

April 30, 1998

Sand Technology Conference Call:

In a call to the investment community, Arthur Ritchie and Kevin Horigan
informed the listeners as to the status of Sand Technology and the Nucleus
product roll out.

Arthur and Kevin report that the Nucleus product family is presenting a much
broader set of market and revenue opportunities. Sand has "a new message and
markets." It has expanded from the Digital Unix market to the huge and
growing Microsoft/NT platform. The product line is performing "better than
anticipated" in customer locations.

The fully implemented comprehensive marketing plan was reviewed in terms
of status and results.

The short version is that the company has and continues to build broad
marketing alliances to penetrate the total range of market potential. It is
adding staff to direct the alliances in the roll out of the technology and the
closing of sales. The company continues to be in the investment stages with
product placement revenues gaining momentum in the next two quarters.

The detailed components are:

Industry analyst and periodical coverage and support is the initial part of
the
marketing plan. In all cases, the responses and reports have exceeded
expectations. These are significant industry experts and client testimonials,
saying that the Nucleus is viable, innovative and the need for the technology
is
pervasive. The DM Review 1998 Innovative Product Award is only the
beginning.

Public Relations activities have been added to broaden industry and financial
community awareness. Arthur has an interview posted on the Internet at
"Stockline.com". This is an audio interview available now. Industry and
financial publications have scheduled in depth articles which will be hitting
immediately. Electronic media (the financial news programs) has discovered
Sand Technology and are scheduling stories for later in the Summer/Fall.

The successful development of the Nucleus NT version has brought a new
challenge to Sand. Selling high volume products via Industry Resellers and
additional hardware platforms is in process.

A major presence via Hitachi Data Systems at the International DB2 User Group
(IDUG) meeting is scheduled. This is a May 10-14 event! This is an event
which brings together the significant players in the Data Base community (read
this as IBM users). It's also the forum that the stock was discovered in back
in 1996.

Hitachi Data Systems is reported to be progressing on all fronts with the
Nucleus products. Their international presence is exciting. The development
of this marketing group represents significant revenue opportunities for the
immediate future.

Other unnamed "bundling" alliances were mentioned which put Nucleus in
multiple high profile industries and companies. We were told that many of
these projects are in process.

Summary: The enterprise and client server products are in place. The
marketing programs are developed and ramping to revenue generation on all
fronts. Arthur and Kevin are focused on producing results in the market.
