Yes, I agree. I increasingly think that utilities (and transportation) are key to how things will go after y2k.

With brownouts of longer durations (weeks or months) it will be much more difficult to do remediation work; so societal problems will be even bigger than anticipated.

I think this way of thinking will emerge the coming months (e.g. see the post relating about a BIS conference; utilities are mentioned over there. This is new; 6-9 months ago awareness about dependency on utilities was weak compared to current awareness on this issue); therefore I am focussing attention to the utility area the coming period.

Any further announcements by TAVA/RWBECK would be very encouraging IMO; the Rick Cowles hiring is also very positive!

I am wondering about any working relation between EPRI and TAVA/RWBECK. Any cooperation in this area would be very positive.
