Paul, Correct but inaccurate. Yes your are corect Pentuim2 did outsell AMd in march, however the reason for the advance was Intel release of newer higher speed chips. OEM bought the Intel offering to introduce new modles and round out their productline offerings. Now that the new models are out there and they are all priced higher then the AMD system and the overall performance is negligible to slightly better but the puyers is hit with the price differential they are opting to buy the less expensive AMD based systems. Such preasure has been felt by HP who recently was under presure to drop system prices to get competitive. Now HP ahs determined that if they had AMD k-6 offerings they could be competive and profitable at the same time selling more volume and getting the occasional sale on the expensive end them those have to have Intel coustmers like you. You really need to get out more and check things out at some of the retailers. The fresh air will do you goood!
