Thanks for the clarification. I believe I now understand where you're coming from. I disagree, but at least I understand. <vbg>

1. Earnings come directly from Sales not bookings.

2. During the downturn, Sales don't fall as much as bookings. i.e. BtoB becomes < 1. So what looks like a cliff for Bookings usually is a much more gentle incline for Sales.

3. I can't think of any examples of chipmakers regaining pricing power for any chip based product. Prices go down and stay down. Unit volumes go up. ... and the most common way for the chip makers to become profitable is to improve their productivity. For the last couple decades, the prime way to do that is to visit one's friendly equipment maker with a big bag full of money.
