If I could refocus the discussion,

I believe the topic is "what can MRV do to increase shareholder value?"

I have been doing some reading on 'goodwill'- the difference between the purchase price of Xyplex and the Book Value. Goodwill is written off over a 40 year amortization, no?

Now, having just taken a very large write-off for restructuring- that's applied to this year's taxes, right?

Now, remember a few months ago when it was announced that European tarifs on computer gear were incorrectly applied to networking equipment, and the networking companies could be getting a big refund? Can someone estimate what this might be for MRVC? I thought it could be quite large. (Help?)

My supposition is that this is a great year to take a large write-off based on an anticipated windfall.

Please- what does anyone think? I'm way out on a limb here.

My only other new ideas to increase shareholder value are:
a) Send obsolete Xyplex gear to interested shareholders! I'd love to play with the stuff.
b) Bumper stickers- 'Honk if you own MRVC'
