The IRS??? I think that there is something called the fifth amendment.

No. Failure to file (and sign) your tax return will net you heavily penalties and can result in criminal action. If you look at your 1040 you will note that you are asserting the tax return is complete and accurate "under penalty of perjury." This is an affidavit. You're being forced to file a legal document which can be used against you and cannot refuse by pleading the Fifth Amendment. You also have to report all income, legal or otherwise, in yet another violation of the Fifth Amendment.

The IRS, DEA, BATF, etc., can seize your property via civil proceedings without ever charging you with (let alone convicting you of) any crime and you have to sue to get it back. An amazing number of Enemies of Bill (both individuals and organizations) have been audited by the IRS (including Paula Jones and the guy who ran the White House Travel Office). Local governments can force conversion of private property to public use as bribes to get zoning approvals. The Endangered Species Protection Act can overnight eliminate all economic value of a piece of real property because of a plant or animal found near said property.

There are many other examples of our abusive government. Land of the Free my a$$.
