To the best of my knowledge it cannot be used on metal.
Also on very deep cavities there is always a risk of nerve damage, but we are not talking about severing a cranial nerve, it just may mean
root canal. These are not the critical issues in determining if a laser would be a good thing to have. I have played with it a little and in my mind this is the way to go, and it has plsia beat.
