EMTECH ANNOUNCES SALE OF ALUMINUM-SCANDIUM STRUCTURAL ALLOY

HAMILTON, Bermuda, June 28 /CNW/ - Emtech Ltd. (OTC: EMTLF),through its Ashurst Technology Group, today announced the first sale of its aluminum scandium master alloy for commercial production. Theorder will be used by a major US aluminum company to produce 44,000 lbs. of one of Ashurst's aluminum scandium structural alloys, which will be sold to a high volume US customer.
Benton H. Wilcoxon, Chairman and Chief Executive Office rof Emtech, said, ``We are pleased with the commercial demand for this
advanced alloy. We believe this sale shows that our extensive alloy
program develops alloys that meet market needs.'' Scandium-containing aluminum alloys offer increased strength,
fabricability, plasticity and fatigue resistance. Scandium also
greatly increases the weldability of aluminum alloys. Ashurst has
developed a number of structural and weld-wire aluminum-scandium
alloys for use in the automotive, aerospace, marine and sports
equipment industries.
Ashurst Technology Group, in partnership and cooperation with
several leading technical institutes in Ukraine, develops advanced
materials for the automotive, aerospace, marine, electronic and
sporting goods industries. Core technologies including advanced
aluminum and titanium alloys, metal matrix composites, energy storage
devices, novel coating systems and basalt fibers are being developed
and commercialized through joint development and licensing
agreements, strategic partnerships and joint ventures and the sale of
specialized materials.
