EMTECH ANNOUNCES SALE OF ALUMINUM-SCANDIUM STRUCTURAL ALLOY
HAMILTON, Bermuda, June 28 /CNW/ - Emtech Ltd. (OTC: EMTLF),through its Ashurst Technology Group, today announced the first sale of its aluminum scandium master alloy for commercial production. Theorder will be used by a major US aluminum company to produce 44,000 lbs. of one of Ashurst's aluminum scandium structural alloys, which will be sold to a high volume US customer. Benton H. Scandium-containing aluminum alloys offer increased strength, fabricability, plasticity and fatigue resistance. Scandium also greatly increases the weldability of aluminum alloys. Ashurst has developed a number of structural and weld-wire aluminum-scandium alloys for use in the automotive, aerospace, marine and sports equipment industries. Ashurst Technology Group, in partnership and cooperation with several leading technical institutes in Ukraine, develops advanced materials for the automotive, aerospace, marine, electronic and sporting goods industries.
