I think the switch capacity of the Fore is 40Gbps. It can scale to 100 Gbps by putting several switches together. Each OC-48 interface consumes 2.4Gbps of this capacity, so you can theoretically have 100/2.4 = 41 OC-48 trunks feeding one logical node (which is made up of several switches). This is theoretical, and whether the switch can deliver this is another question which has to be tested. Since this is a new switch, I doubt there has been much testing.

I believe the Ascend GX-550 is comparable in capacity and scalability, but I have to check.
