RAMBLING POST TO JOHN: (off the topic of SEXI)

John, that was quite a thought provoking post, I am constantly suprised at the lucidity that cuts through here occaisonally, and to be honest, somewhat envious! I especially liked the following:

>>> Society is utterly dependent on trust, so much so that we often take it for granted. Deception and lies are a deep threat<<<

Yes, if we were truly aware of our interdependence....pulling up stakes and joining the Montana Freeman (or whatever) would not seem like a radical thought. I had the privilege of experiencing a "subsistence" (sp?) lifestyle for a couple of years in Central America. I spent seemingly endless days with no electrical or mechanical distractions, seldom wore anything more than a bathing suit, built a fire for the evening meals, ate tons of fish, rice and beans, and enjoyed and almost unbearable degree of solitude at times. When someone happened along the beach to wherever they were going, I would be *REALLY* happy to see them! The culture shock I experienced when I returned to the U.S. literally almost drove me to a nervous breakdown (that and amphetemine induced psychosis).

What I am getting at is how "removed" we all are from the things that really matter....this money thing is a bitch, but it is not *THE* bitch. The problem is we all live and die so quickly and the only thing we leave behind is our deeds....the stuff people will remember us by, that's it. These types of realizations perhaps lie *too* close to the surface with me, but it is my own benchmark of where I am in life, not money. I'll get more money somewhere, but I can't get anymore time...this is it.

Ah, but I digress...

>>> This thread has become a butterfly set to counter further spreading. Six thousand plus messages. Perhaps, if we remember both the fraud and the trust rebuilt among people who have never seen each other, we will be stronger than we were before. <<<<

John you are either totally full of shit, or one heck of a Sage....I admire both because they are paradoxically entwined.

Drop a line sometime, we can swap "war stories"!<g>
