Passed in both the House and the Senate a couple of weeks ago, and now just awaits Slick's signature... Committee Report - House Rpt. 105-467 Part 3 - SURFACE TRANSPORTATION REVENUE ACT OF 1998 Associated Bill --H.R.2400 HR2400 Sec. 4041 Imposition of Tax (m) CERTAIN ALCOHOL FUELS- (1) IN GENERAL- In the case of the sale or use of any partially exempt methanol or ethanol fuel-- (A) the rate of the tax imposed by subsection (a)(2) shall be-- (i) after September 30, 1997, and before October 1, [Struck out->][ 1999 ][<-Struck out] 2005-- (I) in the case of fuel one of the alcohol in which consists of ethanol, 9.15 cents per gallon, and (II) in any other case, 11.3 cents per gallon, and (ii) after September 30, [Struck out->][ 1999 ][<-Struck out] 2005-- This is a nice little SUBSIDY and an indication that the legislative trend is to promote ethanol, and products such as DF-144. :-) Binder
