I work in a hospital every day. When it comes to latex gloves there's usually a choice of powdered and non-powdered. It seems the powdered gloves can be a problem sometimes. Having an allergy to the powdered gloves is rare, but it does happen. I knew a woman who's hands got red, chapped and cracked wearing powdered gloves. I don't think anyone I know has a total allergy to latex though
Also, with general product use in hospitals, there are tons of salesmen who come in pedaling stuff all the time claiming there products are the best. Changing brands is difficult in hospitals. For example, in my dept we use cloth tape to secure endotracheal tubes around a patients faces because out of all the so-called innovative products we've used to secure ET tubes, cloth tape works the best. It's cheap and does the job better.
