LATEX vs. NON-LATEX

Binder, FYI, you can buy non-latex gloves at almost any medical supply store that sells regular latex gloves.

If you're concerned about allergic reactions, I'd recommend you try latex first, either without powder altogether or try ones with different powder...the powder is more often the culprit rather than the actual latex.

I personally find non-latex gloves to be clumsy to use and think they reduce fingertip sensitivity even more than the latex, which is bad enough. I've also had the non-latex tear on me far more frequently during my E.R. internship - and what a panic that can be if you've got a cut on your hands, or psoriasis as I did at the time, and a patient out of his mind and yanking his IV out...it's sad we have to worry about this stuff, but it's important. So I never used them again on any of my home care or nursing home cases.
