Communications Week & Burger King...THE REAL STORY!!!

I just spoke to our representative in Florida regarding Burger King. He has a meeting scheduled with Neil Folley (quoted in the article).

THE REAL STORY:

- Burger King uses NetWare in their headquarters location.

- Store locations have POS systems tied to IBM midrange systems.

- The IBM Midrange systems tie back to 30X mainframes.

- Burger King has developed NT applications to replace their exsisting store systems.

- They have no experience with NT and do not know how well the rollout of this solution will work.

- NO NETWARE WILL BE REPLACED!

- Communications Week called Novell for comments at 4pm Friday. The article went to print Monday, after we called..on Monday!

- Neil Folley (Burger King) was not happy with the article. He indicated that the article was not focused on the conversation he had with Communications Week.

- Joe M. called Communications Week's Managing editor to "discuss" their handling.

NOW, THAT'S THE REAL STORY....no wonder people's trust of the press is compromised!

-Jon

<I personally wonder how much $$$ Microsoft pays for these stunts>
