My dear Christine,

I have been on a lengthy sojourn of late, thus my tardy response.

You raise some interesting points, but addressing the world's challenges using "feelings" can get humans in trouble. Indeed most humans have been in trouble throughout history.

Rational thought is the only method by which challenges can be met with workable solutions. Look at the mess the U.S. is in today. Most of this has been caused by unreasoning solutions, emotional kneejerk reactions, or lack of thought out action plans. The fact that Bill Clinton was re-elected mainly by voters expressing their feelings is a good example of the trouble this country is in: lack of any real philosophy, lack of concrete values, muddy ethics, lip service to noble sounding (but deadly) ideas.
