White Shoes,

You definitely get my drift. I used to only look for small cap techstocks that looked undervalued compared to their competitors. The problem with these stocks is that a lot of the time they stay undervalued while the leaders charge ahead gaining more market share and profits by the year.

Yahoo is one of the stocks that changed my attitude. It has looked overvalued for while, but when you really think about it's lead in soooo many markets the valuation gets much better. I could have forseen this at least a few months ago and bought in for a BIG profit. Too bad I was looking for only small caps.

I'll check out INSO and GNET. I wish I could understand the whole internet arena well. There seem to be sooo many companies out there with few profits. The trick is to find the ones with good, developing brand names and run with 'em.

I've only found one investment that doesn't seem to be too much of a speculation. It's ORFR/Orbit FR. They are pretty much the leader in satellite testing software. Seems like the whole satellite market will start to explode sometime soon, and this seems like a pure play. Asia debacle hit it hard as last quarter earnings were down, but still positive. Growth is supposed to start exploding again by 3rd quarter. Earnings estimates for .78 in '98 and 1.26 in '99 for a $12 stock in a high growth industry. I have a SMALL position relative to my others but am looking to add as soon as earnings come out (Monday coincidentally). Would appreciate any feedback.

I'm also trying to find some picks in the DWDM arena and DVD. They both seem to be ready to explode in the next few years. CREAF may be hot in DVD with the only product out. Ciena in DWDM? No positions in either of these two.
