I placed a sell order through my Waterhouse Securities Web-broker some time ago. Then I placed a new order to sell the stock at a lower price, and canceled my previous sell order immediately.

The stock was sold at the lower price but the old, supposedly canceled, sell order was still valid. In result, in a month or so, I sold the stock "short" when the stock price went up and I lost money on the deal.

My questions:
1. Has anybody been in a similar position?
2. To whom can I complain about the inefficient service of my brokers. Is it possible to get the money back - to reverse the deal and make Waterhouse pay for the difference in the stock price?

My email: waveno1@yahoo.com

Thank you for any suggestions
