greg - Re: "Paul for a smart guy even you have to admit celeron sucks from a technology standpoint. "

For a smart guy, you sure are DENSE!

The performance of the Celeron is a non-issue.

It is THE PRICE!

All you AMD and Cyrix die-hards keep harping about the fact that Intel's processors have speed that NO ONE NEEDS!

So, when the AMD K6 came out, you claimed it was great for 99.99999% of all users needs!

Ditto the K6 -200 MHz.

Ditto the K6-233 MHz.

Now, the only issue is COST!

Intel's name and a LOW PRICE will permit the Celeron to go head to head with ALL CYRIX AND AMD chips at very low price points!

Celeron owners can run ALL existing software at excellent speeds!

Sure, an AMD K6-233 MHz with 512K cache may be faster - so what!

A 400 MHz Pentium II iz even faster than than the K6-ME2!

It is the PRICE...PRICE PRICE PRICE!

At $155, Celeron is the best VALUE PROPOSITION, as Sanders loves to say!

CELERON IS A VALUE PROPOSITION!

If Intel sells it for $79, it will be the greatest bargain in the world!

And I think that day will come -- real SOON!

Paul
