greg - Re: " At best Celeron is a febile engineering response to a
naggning PR nightmare for Intel from sharholders and street analists who correctly pointed out how Intel had managed to fall asleep on the fastest growing market segment. "

Please explain how AMD was so successful that they have LOST MONEY in 3 consecutive quarters because they were so doggone brilliant in recognizing the sub $1000 PC market.

In July, AMD will post their FOURTH CONSECUTIVE quarterly LOSS!

Maybe you can explain that while your are at it.

Please explain also why Intel earned - PROFIT$ - over $1 Billion per quarter during this mad dash for sub $1000 PCs that they (Intel) presumably did not participate in.

Re: "AMD can sell it's AMD-266 at a premium for performance above the price of celeron."

Of course they can...and that is why OEM's will be buying the Celeron instead. The rational - why pay a premium for a non-Intel CPU?

Re: "Celeron now sweeps the floor a position AMD knew all too well. "

Yes..and the Celeron may eat into those 1.5 million K6 sales that AMD has been stuck at for the past 2 quarters.

Once again, you seem to be going "Postal" whenever AMD drops below your recent purchase prices.

You must realize - after all your 1997 mega-junk posts - that you cannot keep AMD's stock afloat. AMD will most likely sink itself and its stock - it has a long track record of doing precisely this.
