30 some million TV households in Germany. The deal takes in parts of Luxenburg(just a few households) and Austria. TV households for the deal are over 45M, and the number will grow during the next few years.

The Kirch d-box was designed by BetaTechniques(now Beta Research). It uses C-Cube's transport and decoder chips. Kirch ordered 1M of them from Nokia. So far, about 250K have shipped, none during the last 5 months. Part of the Kirch deal, is Bartelsman and Telecom will both use d-boxes.

Other suppliers will be invited to make d-boxes. They could use other chips, or use C-Cube's. Over 45M boxes in 10 years, and C-Cube is there first. Today, 1M boxes = over $20M in revenue, and the price is droping.
