There is also another way of looking at the previous table. Instead
of comparing 1997 high prices to last Friday's closing price, compare
1995 high prices to last Friday's closing price. Out of the 41
stocks, 3 do not have 1995 prices so they are grouped at the top of
the table. Of the remaining 38 stocks, only 9 are higher last Friday
than their highest 1995 price. This leaves 29 stocks not even up to
their 1995 highs.

In addition, another interesting grouping comes from the table. Joe
recently called out a "pointer" on the PLAB thread in reference:

The reference is to John Markoff's article calling out the stocks of
ASMLF, CYMI, DPMI, ETEC and PLAB. Look where these stocks are on the
following table - right up at the top together. Any significance
here? One could argue that the percent gain of CYMI and DPMI from
1995 is infinite since their price was "$0" in 1995.
