Good find. The article points out that winning market share is not as simple as having the best price/performance. Corporate buyers won't get fired for buying even the crappy Wilted Celery based PCs but they could get heat if they go against the corporate dogma of "Intel Inside". It's been beaten back but is still there as witnessed by INtel's control of 75% of the market.

Glen Henry says it: The next six months are critical for IDTI's WinChip efforts. IDTI now makes so few parts that they have NO influence on the direction of the market. If a high degree of cooporation between IDTI, AMD & NSM/Cyrix is forged in both the technical and key marketing fronts, then these guys stand a better chance of keeping Intel from migrating the market to PII. If INtel is able to shift enough of the momentum to PII/slot 1, then the road will get increasingly difficult for the competitors. The next 6 months will be tough and the stock price of IDTI may suffer because of the perception of increased uncertainty; it's already there but some invesotrs and analysts may not recognize it fully.
