Ian, I recall when you posted your short interest statistics I commented that the jump in HAL's short interest may be due to the arbs shorting HAL (and going long DI) with respect to the acquisition.

Likewise, it may be the case that the high short interest in EVI is due to the Arbs shorting EVI and going long WII, with respect to their merger. If that is the case, it is possible that the jump in EVI is not so much due to short covering. But, of course, I am just making a guess without any supporting data.
