Could Datek's game be that they will force us to cover at the most inopportune times, e.g KTEL? This could be the reason if they are 'faking' the shorts and don't have the underlying shares. If they are secretly taking the other side of these trades, then they have the option to end the trades at any time they like. I don't know the mechanics of the markets too well, so I'm only wild guessing at this point. Peter
