LVLT-CTR(Oxygen) Visionaries and all that-- Hi Scott-- Agree on the LVLT vision- I know some of the actual folks who are doing the visionary implementation--pretty impressive bunch. As for CTR/Oxygen-- The "turf" comment relates to the interworkings of a group the size of Project Oxygen-- Carriers evrywhere and they all have to agree cause it is their $$. Just imagine SPRINT, MCI ATT coming together to agree on a new US-wide continental fiber infrastructure and agreeing on how it should be done ;-) The management aspects of CTR would seem, to me, to be quite complex. Remember, it is just not dark fiber--It is an ATM/SONET provisioned infrastructure-- To me, it might work like the ATM Forum and folks may not want to even use that technology.==turf issues This is where the QWST's and the LVLT's are at their finest ;-)) IMHO Also glad you like Vint Cerf. I know of no one place to find all his thoughts-- The guy works for a living in the industry and once in a while, he is interviewed or speaks at a conference, to give his working view of what we are into--from the trenches inside.
