Hi Zeuspaul, Dirk & Spots,

Want to let you know the outcome of the Kristi crisis;-)

With my husband's help(he's more adept with computers than I) we followed your instructions and reset our machine to 16 bit. The box finally disappeared and the CD-Rom began. There was Kristi introducing her program and flitting around the ice, music was playing. However, when it came time to choose one of the buttons to proceed with the game, we discovered we didn't have control of the mouse. We kept clicking but nothing further happened.

Then Jim noticed the list of system requirements in the User's Manual.
It requires 16MB RAM and we have 8MB RAM. So, it's a bigger handicap than the 16 bit color one.

Suppose Kristi will just have to wait until we're ready to upgrade.

Sincere thanks for all your help. Changing the color depth did give me an idea what the program is like. My niece started ice skating lessons a few weeks ago, and, eventually, she will really enjoy this program.

This is a helpful, hospitable forum. Many other SI threads should come here for human relations training;o)

Best wishes,

Ann
