AGAIN I WILL REITERATE SOME OF GLCP'S STRENGHTS
sorry for repeating myself but considering some of the low tactics used by a few of the naysayers I think it's necessary.

GLCP compared to the competition:

AirLink is unique in that the network can be "tuned" to most available frequencies. Itron ( the biggest competitor) functions under FCC Part 15 - a low power solution that is prone to severe signal interference. At Itron's data rate, there are severe limitations as to the number of data points (meters) that can be served under this scheme.

AirLink, under Part 90, using 5 watts of power, is estimated to provide coverage of up to 18 miles radius from data point to collection point. Competitive systems are limited to approximately 1/2 mile, including Itron.

Data Throughput -
The AirLink system sends data packets at a maximum rate of 100,000 bits per second as compared to 9,600 bits per second for competition. The speed of transmission enables AirLink to accommodate a far greater number of meters in the system.

AirLink is designed to "read" 6,000 meters in 90 seconds.
Under Part 90, AirLink is designed to read 500 meters per second. The Part 90 system will serve 450,000 meters if charged with reading meters every 15 minutes (1.8 million if reading once per hour).

Reading Accuracy -
Naturally, reading accuracy is a critical component of an AMR system. AirLink's delivery specification is to read meters with a minimum of 99% accuracy. (The industry standard, at this time, is approximately 98%.) Our understanding is that, today, many AMR systems have problems in providing accurate reads due to design irregularities which may require re-calibration of meters, which would be an unacceptable condition to most utilities.

Database Software Requirements -
AirLink is an "open" system. All data is fed to a flat-file database that is accessible to other system software (such as billing systems) in use by the utility. No special software interfaces are required to access the AirLink database. Alternative systems generally require a custom-designed database structure. Itron, for example,
charges an additional $200,000 for software to run their network.

Heres what the pathetic competition is up to:

******Itron has established itself as a leading supplier of handheld EMR systems and AMR meter modules for the AMR market."
hand held????....hahahahahha

It should also be noted that Greenland's product is not only more advanced but also cheaper by 25%,

"The Company(Itron March 1998) estimates there are approximately 268 millionmeters in North America, of which only approximately 15 million, or 6%, currently have installed AMR technology."
GREAT, more room for GLCP to grow!!!!!!!!!

"The Company's (ITRON) AMR solutions involve the use of radio and telephone technology to collect meter data. The Company's radio-based AMR solutions include handheld walk-by ("Off-Site"), vehicle-based
drive-by ("Mobile") and fixed network("Fixed Network") reading technology options."
........Drive by??????? HAHAHAHAHHA

From already announced Press Releases Greenland has the following:

Pilot programs in Oregon, Utah & Connecticut and has an agreement for 100K meters in Richmond, California.omeone also posted that they saw a TV news item discussing Greenland installing 120K meter reading devices in Virginia.

They have an agreement with a Brazilian company to sell their technology to Brazilian utilities. Total Brazilian market, approx 150 million total meters. GLCP is the first to be in Brazil.

They have an agreement with a Mexican firm to sell meter reading devices to be used for parking meters in Mexico. They estimate annual revenues of 9 million from the first 30,000 to be installed.

This company will also try and sell utility reading devices for GLCP in Portugal and Spain.

A recent corporate filing also mentions negotiations with utilities in Puerto Rico for AMR devices.

Oregon utility general manager, " I believe this product far exceeds any other AMR system available today"

Just a few of Greenland's strengths:)))
