newbie, On bond action - approx. 80% of the equity in the US is in the bond market, with only about 20% in stocks, so that's why it's so important what rates do and also why many times stocks follow bonds. Although I think for stocks to do well this year, we just need a neutral bond market - doesn't have to be that favorable, just not a big tube out.
