Joe - If there is one company that is unlikely to be using the new CDMA chip in volume it is Ericsson. There are only two CDMA systems in wide production (CDMAOne and to a much lesser extent, B-CDMA) and Ericsson is not on either team. In fact they are currently engaged in a game of corporate chicken with Qualcomm (the primary inventor of CDMAOne) over CDMA. And as far as I know the only CDMA chips that VLSI is working on are for CDMAOne.

Clark

PS A small note. Ericsson recently purchased a company that is making handsets for Globalstar, which is CDMA. So, in that sense they might be using some chips, but it is unlikely to be many since it is exclusively for G*.
