Hi Steve,

As a tenured research professor, I feel that I can
comment. Himanshu is correct--the top research professors
are fantastic salesman that are the corporate equivalent
of rainmakers. The ivory tower types that you are referencing
DO exist, but there are an equal number of the rainmaker types.
