Chris- you are right- WOW can read MS format- and QP can automatically update to MS format as part of "download and update process"
BUT- I use a function in WOW which is in 4.0 and 5.0 Professional version which is called groups. You can scan database and save selected securities in a group. This is a powerful adjunct. Also, MS format does not read "price" and "price change" when reading the securities list.
A simple "merge" process in WOW converts the data to WOW format at the expense of HD space. The only
hassle is the ms 255 directory limit- with 10,000 at your disposal in QP this is a hassle.
Now to call Gary at QP to fix it in new version????

Ok I called Gary- he says that MS 6.0 does have a 2000 stocks per subdirectory limit up from 255 but they have not licensed the format out to third parties yet.
He has contacted them several times and will patch the program when it is available and therefore make it available to us.
He also confirmed that ascii output loses the security name. So it's back to MS format and 255 directories.

I hope that was clear.
