I see your point re. calling certs- we will WIN with DGIV fundamentals, regardless. However, here is one point FOR calling in your certificates: The advantage is preventing the shorts from playing with your shares by calling in your certs now does NOT lie with the shares we have NOW but rather with the shares that come with the split in the future (we know a split will come sooner or later to increase the flat to add liquidity and let BIG INSTITUTIONS in). After the splits, more shares will be available to be shorted, which will prevent the price to be at its FAIR level after each positive news announcement. If we have the certs, the 60% or so of the float we have now will remain the 60% or so of the float we will have after the split (s) that is NOT available to be shorted. If we do not have the certs, the availabe shares to be shorted will significantly increase as more shares hit the market. I agree that the company fundamentals will win out at the end.
Howwever, IMO, it is a safe bet the price will always be lower with the shorts around than if the shorts are eliminated (as much as we can since they never completely disappear). Now, let say 6 to 12 months from now, you need to take some money off your DGIV investment for any number of reasons (it is now 100 post 2 splits, it is bought out, you need to buy a house, etc...), would you not want the price to be HIGHER without the shorts?
I know in the past, a call for certs would signify a desperation move for a company. It is TOTALLY different with DGIV. any new investor reading this thread will see we are calling for the certs from a position of STRENGTH not weakness (it is a preemptive move to CRUSH the shorts). in fact, if any one is unwilling to buy DGIV share because of this call for certs at this time, it is even better since it allows those of us who really believe in the commpany to buy more cheap shares and lock up even more of the float!!!! Good luck everyone. |
