Nah let's get totally tubed by the bond market + totally, insurance is a tough business these days, you can insure anything but do the companies have the revs in case a lot of valid claimant's claims come in. You should have seen what happened after Hurricane Iniki struck. Insurance companies had to go ack and bail and guess who got stuck with the bill. The claimant--the very people who thought they'd be insured. If you weren't first in line to put in your claim, you were last to get paid a lot of times and sometimes very little at all. And guess who is last in line often times, the nice people, the relaxed people, and/or the elderly or those who simply had no means to get to the insurance office or claims locations (sick and/or no car--roads and cars did get wiped out, people had to camp in what like seemed forever). And now, guess who's paying for the higher passed on costs--you and me, particularly me. I pay a lot cause the same insurance co's are now charging much higher rates and now Hawaii is viewed as a sort of Hurricane Alley. It's totally outrageous. They got the golden parachute plus they're back in the game. You know what's really lame too, the parent company didn't have to cover for the insurance companies, they got let go scott free. It's sick. Later on, when the time is right, I'll tell you who the parent company is. |
