It may very well be true that no one ever visited the company. But when it comes to potential for the product, the company will virtually always overstate the possibilities. If you really want to know what the potential is then ask the doctors who might use it. Ask the oncologists and the ophthalmologists that know the other competing technologies out there and what the pros and cons are. I think you will find that the company seems to be deluding themselves about their actual addressable market size.

The company did come out with a press release in response to the Forbes article. Just to let you know, I have seen press releases by companies in response to Forbes articles before. One in particular was Cellular technical Services (CTSC). While the Forbes author never spoke to CTSC, the price of the stock did continue to plummet and now trades below 2.

Employees will many times be very defensive about their company. Anyone who believes in what they do will be very optimistic. That optimism is very useful when trying to make the best of a company. However, when trying to assess what a company is truly worth, it is better to ask people not so closely tied that unbridled optimism clouds their judgement.
