One of my department supports the company ECAD tools. You need to know that the tools suppliers are in the middle of transition to NT boxes. Two years ago, you could not finmd too many ECAD that runs on a PC, especially the tools needed to do heavy Mechanical, SPICE simulations, Synthesis and Place&Route. We are only partially switched to PC/NT and probably take a year or two to complete.
