Fellow Amatians,
I thought it was time to come back after a long SI breather. I had to get away from the thread. There were too many things were affecting me personally.
I took a trip to South America for 4 weeks. I have been to the Colombian Caribbean, two weeks, wandered around in Ecuador, one week, and then to the Galapagos Islands for another week. Anybody wanting to know how lucky they are should spend some time down there wandering around.
Since I got my $20/sh back in November, I took 1/2 the wad and socked it into my companies stock. SAPHY. I'm staying put there till at least utill we hit the NYSE in August. When I left this thread people were touting their favorite picks and I didn't have the guts to tout my own companies stock.. Hint, Hint. (BTW- a friend told me of the lehman brothers coverage that was issued and posted on the SAP thread some days ago. I just read it and did a lot of grinning. I am just suggesting you people do the same. The disclaimer at the bottom cracks me up.)
Anyway, I have seen plenty of DSL coverage here in central Germany. On TV I saw a paid announcement from Siemens touting high bandwidth solutions for the office place. The whole infomercial lasted about 5 minutes where they set up a computer conferencing system. The whole concept of what Siemens did was excellent except for one thing. When they showed the computer screen giving the conference there was no screen sync problem when re-broadcasting on television. The screen was also way too clear. I think they computer simulated the actual conference.
I've been staying up to date with the latest stock prices of the various DSL players but not really the news. Looks like things are the same as when I left. Except for Orckit. What gives? Would somebody post me a few line summary. It would save me few hours thread surfing.
I have seen the last 50 or so wstl posts. Lots of sour grape posts regarding the old CEO. Judging from the stock price I would wager to guess people are still waiting for the 3 contracts? Right?? I didn't like that tactic from the start. (I think I was the first one to get flamed for saying so. Yea I know, hindsight is 20/20). Looking back at everything that has happened in the last two years, gives me a good laugh.
So now my top DSL picks are Westell, weather they have contracts or not, and PAIR. I don't have the guts to invest in AWRE. I hear they have a product but there is something about the past deals they've made that just don't sit right with me.
Consider me back for awhile,
Eric |
