Your post from the resort was gruelling. It is so sad to see infrastructure so painfully built slip back.

In Malaya I think what you're looking at Stitch is the country going back to about, say, 1971. Maybe 1980. No one ever guaranteed this place was Oklahoma Stitch. Look what happened to Dorothy in Kansas.

Pity the poor people who live in high rises when the power outages start. Look at your swimming pool as a giant planter. At that plant seasonally dependent plants in your garden.

Maybe you should just learn to drink more like Somerset Maugham.

Between times I got a ticket in NY yesterday backing down a one way street... it was my intent to get away from the bicycle fest that took over mid-town. I was wrong, wrong, wrong. Never never never back up a one way street and back up across an intersection! How could I do this?

But as the cop wrote up my ticket at least 100 other cars passed me and the cop as he wrote up my fine and they went the wrong way down the one way street to avoid the 25,000 bicycles. Basically, what I love about America is the total anarchy here! The anarchy!!! Every man expressing himself. Every man an individualist. Glorrirrous. Worth $65 bucks just to see those 100 other cars breaking the law oblivious to Officer Pine.

My best,
