Hi OJ -- I never doubted for a second that you'd feel that way:)
Here's the deal stated as succinctly as I can:
Based on the closing prices as of Apr 24, your imaginary portfolio consists of:
AOL $33301 for 447 shares @ 74.50
YHOO $33392 for 291 shares @ 114.75
LCOS $33384 for 624 shares @ 53.50
The above is a total of $100,077; if as of close of trading on Apr 23, 1999 the portfolio is worth over this amount you win--if it is less, then I win. If the value has doubled or more as of that date, you win a bonus prize to be determined by me -- if the value is half or less as that date, then I win the bonus prize to be determined by you. If any company gets acquired then the cash value of the stock as of the date of consummation of the transaction is the value to be used on Apr 23, 1999 plus interest at 10% annually.
Any fluctuations in the value of the portfolio during the year are of no relevance in determining the outcome of the wager, but bragging rights are maintained for both parties:)Right at this moment you are well ahead -- but the fat lady is not close to singing.
The only thing that matters is the value as of the close of trading on April 23, 1999.
Now examine this carefully before you indicate your agreement and careful review, should in your case, be at least 30 seconds:)
