Nathan; Appreciate your input, and Rick Strange won't believe it but I also will thank him for his input. Infact, Rick's input is what has prompted me to say what follows. Rick , difference of opinions is what makes markets, and they certainly help others on this board, so I am serious when I say thanks for your input. Now, about "context". When I was at the FDA meeting I heard a lot of comments made by various members of the: panel/ committee, CBER/FDA, and NVX that by themselves could be given what ever meaning suited your interest.
Now here I am only talking about this specific meeting. During the breaks I would ask others to explain what ever questions I had raised which helped quite abit. But often they would ask if I had attended the Connaught or Smith Kline meetings and of course I hadn't and they would inform me that that would have helped alot if you want to follow ever detail of what's going on here. I will for sure say it certainly would have. Turns out alot of the ground that was covered here was not new territory to those familiar with all three meetings. Now we can add the Lederle meeting.
The other day I had a very good discussion with a member of the FDA Advisory Committee Staff to better understand the value of these meetings to the FDA. I went away with a little better understanding that what was of most interest to the FDA is the dialog, not the recommendations and not the votes. In short . The FDA, as I understand it now, is after input that addressed the questions they asked with the intent of factoring it into their decision process. They aren't looking just for opinions. They still are responsible for making the decision. The FDA makes the Decision.
That said , interpretation/ adding meaning, to what was said or not said, at this point involves some conjecture as to how the FDA will use the input to arrive at their decision. Understand that they are a lot more involved, lets say, they are immersed for a year or more , the panel is exposed, and that makes a difference as to how they think about the situation.
I do indeed rely on the expertise of the many Wall Street professionals whom are paid very very well by the large financial houses of Wall Street, and Institutional Investors to make sense out of these types of situations.
Today Four highly recognized Wall Street firms follow NVX. ALL HAVE BUYS ON THE STOCK , That is good enough for me.
As Andy Harrison stated in an earlier post, they have addressed and countered are the negative comments regarding NVX to my full satisfaction. :-} |
