I think WIND should continue to differentiate itself from Microsoft and avoid the kind of highly visible direct competition coming from the likes of SUNW and ORCL.

Microsoft Windows is now a major brand name like Coca-Cola, Pampers, and Wheaties, and it would be ridiculous for WIND to try to promote VxWorks along these lines. WIND should continue to quietly sell its fine invisible technology to anyone (Microsoft included), and let these companies incorporate it into branded products like JetSend and Digita.

If Microsoft takes part of the embedded space with Windows CE, WIND should simply adjust its strategy to take advantage of whatever new opportunities this opens up in deeply embedded infrastructure.
