With regard to the discussions regarding the Comdex trade show, in talking with Karen at Ampex investor relations, she said that yes, they would making a presentation on Keepering in Las Vegas at the event prior to Comdex, but would not be attending the trade show itself.
If there were a contract in hand, it would have made sense to make it public at Comdex, so it seems unlikely that we'll hear an announcement by then. However, given Bramson's overall goal of getting a deal penned by the end of this year, the "discussions and negotiations" that are taking place with 3 major disk drive mfrs, the timing necessary to incorporate keepered media along with the new generation of inductive heads that drive mfr's will be using in '97, and Ampex's willingness to fund the design of pre-amplifier chips in order to minimize any potential delay, makes it seem very likely that we should hear something soon.
My portfolio is getting pretty heavily weighted with AXC, so the story that is unfolding with this company is getting especially exciting for me! Go Ampex!
